Corrections policy
RentalNews is committed to accuracy, transparency and fair correction of published material.
Our standard
We correct factual errors promptly and clearly. When we update a story after publication, we note what changed and when. Significant corrections receive a visible note at the top of the article.
How to report an error
Email editorial@rentalnews.co.nz with the article URL, the passage in question and any supporting evidence. Editorial staff review all correction requests.
Clarifications and updates
Some updates reflect new information rather than errors — for example, revised MBIE bond data or a subsequent Tribunal order. These are labelled as updates in the article byline and, where material, in our RSS feed.
Google News and search visibility
Corrected articles retain their canonical URL at /news/{slug} so readers, backlinks and search engines can follow the authoritative version. We do not unpublish corrected stories unless required by law or editorial policy.
